Commissioned by Trinity Church to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
2,977 origami peace cranes are suspended 25 feet up in an infinity symbol in the atrium of St. Paul’s Chapel, along with other artifacts from 2001 on display. A crane for each lost life, in shades of blue reminiscent of the beautiful blue skies that day.
Attendees of the OrigamiUSA convention, along with visitors to the chapel and members of the Trinity parish were invited to sit, learn, and fold the cranes with us.
Created in collaboration with origami artist, Talo Kawasaki, the exhibit was unveiled on September 4th, 2026. It will remain until Thanksgiving, with plans to re-install it at Trinity Commons.
